Quinn Ward gives me everything I love in this. Maverick is definitely a caterpillar needing the support to blossom into a butterfly. He finds that support in John, who is drawn to Mav in ways he can't explain and ends up not fighting. Mav is one of my favorite type of characters in Daddy/boy stories. I love that John picks up on Mav's different day to day feelings right away. And I just love a gender fluid character represented in stories. Some days he says to be a princess and some days he wants to be a little masc. Either way, Mav has found his family in Annandale, a place where he's accepted. John discovers that he's a Daddy who loves Mav however he's feeling. I hope there are plans for a couple books in this series!! I'm very excited for the new club. Probably one of my least favorite M/M romances. This is like erotica, BDSM and a MC novel rolled in one and it just doesn’t work for me. I hated how it all seemed so cryptic. It’s like a conversation would open up but not finish until a later time. I don’t think Mav and John ever had their talk. When Mav talked to Theron it was laid out but the reader was kept in the dark. When John called Blake I was like is he from another series and why the friction. I also didn’t like John’s fickleness in the beginning or the fact that he was 40 still listening to his brother and staying over at another man’s house.I did actually like John’s and Maverick’s characters, I just wish the writing was better to fully appreciate them and their story.
